Vasudev Krishna and Karn

The best teachers in life

Sep 5, 2025

All characters from the great Mahabharat have taught me something in life, but Vasudev Krishna and Karn have taught me the most. These characters have been the greatest teachers for me. Instead of looking at them as great warriors or gods, I often see them as teachers whose actions throughout the Mahabharat have taught me how to do meaningful actions and look at life.

Vasudev Krishna, one of Lord Vishnu’s roop, is a very interesting character. He shows all the emotions, playful and mischievous in his childhood, caring and compassionate with his friends, calm and wise as a guide, and even fierce when protecting dharma. He has taught me how to be grateful to all the people who have helped you and to help them when they are in need, be it Draupadi’s incident or Sudama, his childhood friend. Vasudev, having the ultimate power, still chooses strategic thinking to win battles, teaching that wisdom and strategy are more powerful than force. More than anything, he teaches me that true greatness lies in being humble, grateful, and always standing for what is right.

Karn, another great character, the most tragic hero of Mahabharat, has taught me resilience. I see him as the most skillful warrior in the Mahabharat, yes even better than Arjun. Society rejected him due to his caste, but still he rose by sheer hard work. He teaches me how I can become the best without inheriting any privilege. He also has a message associated with his life that the cost of wrong associations is very high and one must choose associations wisely.

Arjun ko sab mila, Karn ko sab pana pada hai…
